Week 14

I hope everyone had a great Easter holiday! We had a pretty great day, slept in, hunted eggs in the morning and celebrated my Grandpa’s birthday! My kiddos are pretty sugar overloaded tonight and I’m looking forward to a candy detox starting NOW!

Sifting through her loot:

Usually on holiday’s I hand the camera off to David so I can participate in the events too. But today Bradley took charge! This is what happens when your 6 year old gets ahold of your camera ;) Not too shabby on the BBF there Bug!

Sunday morning it was raining, cold and dark outside. Not to worry because I was able to spend some time indoors with this precious little lady and her mommy for a few hours. Moms, you know that new baby smell? No, not new car smell! Your baby smells of softness and newness. She’s fragile and beautiful. So perfect! The very moment she is born, she takes your breath away! This is true for every mommy, new and experienced. There’s a special sweetness you have with your baby when you bring her into the world! All her little details mean everything to you. The way her toes curl, the little bits of fuzzy hair on the top of her shoulders, her long fingers that wrap so perfectly around yours…

It takes a special kind of love to be a mommy. It’s patience, admiration, devotion. Little Makayla was just as wrapped up in her mommy as Nikki is with her. This sweet  lady fought sleep to listen to everything around her and stare into her mommy’s eyes. I noticed the one thing that calmed her most was when Nikki cuddled her close shushed her softly. Witnessing this kind of love is so beautiful!

She’s quite the little lady! So beautiful and perfect! Congratulations, Nikki on the arrival of your gorgeous little lady!

She did such a good job! Especially with Ms. Makayla not wanting to relax, it took forever it felt like! Jess was so patient :) What funny is thats what I go through every night trying to put her to sleep and put her in her crib :)

I’m so happy to share these lovely people with you! I’ve known Jennifer and Karen… umm, half our lives (I’ll stick with that, no numbers!). We grew up together just a few houses down from each other. When I was the new girl in school, Karen was the one who took me in and showed me around. She laughed at my poor jokes and made sure I never forget the time I thought I was being smooth and roller skated/crash landed in front of her house. She was my Maid of Honor at mine and David’s wedding and I love her forever and always! Jennifer is Karen’s sister and mommy to these handsome young men you see here!

We just barely missed the full bloom of the orchards, but it was still absolutely gorgeous out there.

Thanks so much Karen & Jenn! Love you ladies!!
