“Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast – you also miss
the sense of where you are going and why.” – Eddie Cantor
I feel like sharing something from my heart today. The quote above has been speaking to me so much lately. I wrote it down and left the note on my desk. Every time I go to clear off my desk of junk not needed, I stop and read it. Put it back and soak in the now. It’s so incredibly easy to get wrapped up in this fast paced world. So easy to forget to stop and cuddle your little one, to watch a TV show you hate with your husband just so you can cuddle, or throw the ball around with your dog who wags her tail even if you’re not paying her any attention. What’s incredible though is when I’ve reached the point of stress and chaos, the only things that free me are my family. I let life go at full speed and I don’t give my 100% to the three people who need me the most. It’s so easy to do, and all I need to free myself from the whirlwind of “life” is them. Relaxed moments, chalk covered fingers, giggles over fart noises.
THIS is the life! This is my happy place!
I’m slowing down now, so I can enjoy the things that bring my life reason. Thank you God for giving me the most amazing people to surround myself with! My children are the reason I am where I am today. They only make my appreciation for life grow stronger.
