Oh this beautiful family ♥ I’ve photographed them once before when that little man was a newborn! They welcomed a sweet baby girl into their bunch and I was so happy to get to photograph them all again.
Typically families choose to come to my home studio for their sessions so it was a nice change of pace to step out of my comfort zone and into theirs for this session. (The option for me to come to you is always available by the way!)
Sweet Caroline was a petite little lady, she arrived nearly a month ahead of schedule as heathy as can be! I love how teeny she looks in the arms of mom & dad. I rarely see blonde hair on babies. I’d say maybe 2-3 a year at most? So I especially loved her peach fuzzy blonde hair!
I’m so happy to share this session and share some love for this special family who welcome newborn twins to their family! Heather (mom) is a photographer here in Bakersfield as well and I’ve had the joy of getting to know her over the last few years. She contacted me to set up a family & sibling session as soon as her sweet babies were home from the NICU. When you’re a photographer, planning so you can be IN the photos too is so hard. My heart is overjoyed that she chose me for this. It also happens that these two cuties are the first set of twins I’ve ever photographed!
Heather and her oldest also visited me last year for my annual Mommy & Me studio minis, view some of my favorites from that session here!

I’ve dreamt of an outdoor newborn session for so long! I love the idea of a perfect new little one in natures beautiful sceneries. It represents newness and a connection to nature that I crave so much. I’m so incredibly happy that that’s exactly what this family wanted too!
One of my favorite things about photographing this family is that they’re always up for an adventure! They’re not a sit and pose family. They embrace the chaos and cherish the little details. Earlier in the year we ventured out to another mountainous area to photograph their maternity session. For their newborn session, mama dreamed of a wildflower session to celebrate their precious new Bloom. Wildflowers were the perfect setting for their free spirited bunch.
“She’s a wildflower, beautiful, fierce and free.”

Sweet Anthony visited me for his newborn session calm and as cuddly as could be! Check out his dark wispy hair and curly little legs, so good! He was just so relaxed and chill, I love that he opened his eyes for a second to show me his big beautiful eyes.
I first met Anthony’s family when they wanted to announce their pregnancy with him in this session, and then again later for their maternity session! I had so much fun with them at each of the sessions so I was pretty excited to finally meet this handsome fella. It’s pretty special to follow a family’s journey from bump to baby. I get to see little bits and pieces into their joy and excitement in welcoming a new family member. And boy was this little guy so loved and welcomed!
