Info & FAQ’s

MY STYLE

When booking with me, it’s important that my style of photography is something you can envision displayed in your home. It’s up to you to decide if my style of photography meet your needs, you cannot be sold on it. I love documenting life just as it is. Organic. Beautiful. Most of all, honestly. My style is just that with a tiny pinch of soft & airy ♥ Please be sure to stroll through my blog & gallery pages to view what a session with me would look like.

BOOKING
Sessions are by appointment only, drop-ins are not accepted.

When you inquire and are ready to book your session, I’ll provide you with all of the important information like best times for sessions so that it’s all up front from the start. Pricing is available on my website here. I’ll also ask you to fill out (with as much detail as you can!) a client questionnaire. This part is very important because the information you provide helps me determine if I’m able to provide you with what you’re wanting and if our styles/idea match. This information is also very helpful in my preparation for your session. Please take the time to fully read everything provided. If you have any questions through the processes I’m always happy to help answer your questions! If we both feel we’re a great working match, I’ll send a link to my portrait agreement. Sessions are booked once you have submitted your portrait agreement & paid the session fee.

VIEWING & ORDERING

Your session images will be available approximately 2 weeks after your session. I’ll get in touch with you when your images are ready for viewing & ordering. You have the choice of an in-person ordering session or an online gallery.

In-person ordering sessions take place in my office where I’ll show you all of the final images from your session. You’ll be able to view studio samples of all of my products offered. Your product order will be placed at the end of this session & an online gallery for viewing & ordering will be provided for your family. In person ordering sessions are great if you need assistance in narrowing down your favorites and deciding what to order or if you would like to design your wall display or albums with me. It’s a really quick & fun process, plus who doesn’t want to design their own displays?!

Online galleries are available for 7 days. You’ll be able to view and mark your favorite images as well as order products. Online galleries are great if you have a busy schedule or if you prefer doing your ordering from the privacy of your own home. I provide a step-by-step video tutorial and I’m available by phone/email/text if you need any assistance at all.

 FAQ’s

When should I schedule my newborn’s session?
Newborn sessions are scheduled in baby’s first 5-25 days of age. Those sweet curly poses are most successful during this time. That said, I have had some success posing babies up to 1 month old. It’s not as easy and typically sessions take longer, but if you’re up for it I am too! (Parents of boys, if you plan on having your little one circumcised, please schedule your session before the procedure or allow for 4-5 days healing time before your session.)

How far in advance should I book my newborn’s session?
Currently I accept 5-8 sessions per month and I’m often booked 2-3 months in advance. To ensure a place in my schedule I recommend booking your session at the start of your 3rd trimester at minimum. When booking your session, I place your Estimated Due Date (EDD) in my calendar. About 1 week before your EDD, I’ll be in touch to check on you to see how you’re progressing or if there have been any changes. I ask that you keep me updated on babies arrival from this point on. Family sessions are available seasonally and available to those on my VIP email list only! Be sure to scroll down and sign up.

Do you provide props or do I need to bring them?
I have a large selection of props, knit bonnets/hats, wraps, outfits, headbands etc that are all selected specifically for style, fit and newborn photography. Before your session I ask that you complete a questionnaire that helps me carefully curate a set from what I have on hand that fits the style/colors you’ve mentioned in the questionnaire. If there is something special like an heirloom or gift that you would like included, I ask that you send me a photo beforehand so I can plan around it and that you limit items to 2-3 items. You’re welcome to choose from my wall of props as well!

•Where are you located?
My home studio is located in the SW area of Bakersfield, CA. The closest crossroads are Harris & Old River.

•Is there anything we should bring?
My studio area is kept at a very warm 78-80 degrees. I suggest dressing in layers or bringing something comfortable to dress in after your family photos. This is helpful in the event that baby goes to the bathroom on you during the family photos as well. It happens! A pacifier is especially helpful, I have new sealed Jolly Pop pacifiers available if you do not have your own. Even if your little one hasn’t used one before, I do encourage bringing one just in case. I often use them only if baby is fussy and has already been fed.
