Journey’s Newborn Session | Bakersfield Photographer

Sweet little lady, Journey, visited me for her newborn session earlier this month and my heart is still overflowing with so much love for her and her parents! Her mom & dad are also photographers/videographers in Bakersfield, so for me it was a really special opportunity to get to work with others within our creative community. I say it all the time and it feels a little redundant but it’s true. Bakersfield has an incredible creatives community and I’ve watched time and time again how people have come together to support and love each other in so many ways. I feel like there’s a new season of growth happening here right now and it is amazing and beautiful! If you’re not aware, I encourage you to open your eyes and take a little extra time as you’re driving through town and see new murals popping up, or the gorgeous family photos your friends have up in their homes, and even the design works of new buildings popping up all over. I think if you slow down a little and purposefully watch for it, you’ll notice so many changes happening. It’s incredible!

I want to brag on our city often so I could give you all the pretty and amazing words forever so I’ll move on and tell you about this sweet girl’s session but first, check out the amazing things her parents create!

Journey visited me for her session just before she was 2 weeks old. We pulled earthy tones with lots of greens and neutrals that I think complimented her perfectly! Aside from snuggling her up and photographing her adorableness, I really enjoyed chatting with her parents about pretty much everything! They ooo’d and awe’d over her sweetness, loved on her through snack breaks and made the raddest video I’ve ever seen.
